STRIVE TECH AWARDED $1.5 MILLION GRANT FROM US MILITARY

Wearable technology system will partner with the US Military as a performance monitoring solution for mission readiness

Bothell, Wash. – August 31, 2020 – The United States Department of Defense awarded Strive with a $1.5 million Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract through the AFWERX innovation program. The grant will be used to help quantify performance effective immediately. Strive’s wearable technology system will be used by the United States Air Force to provide an insights-oriented solution to monitor their airmen.

The initial partnership plans are for the airmen to utilize Strive during centrifuge training and the certification process, followed by the use of the monitoring system in-flight.

“We are very excited and honored to be selected for this opportunity,” Strive CEO Nikola Mrvaljevic said. “We are ready to help our nation’s heroes achieve next level human performance.”

The Strive system will track and monitor the muscle load and muscle output of the airmen through wearable electromyography (EMG) sensors, allowing quantifiable insights into how their bodies respond to work loads. Airmen will use Strive to track indicators of readiness by measuring amplitude, as well as monitor muscle engagement of the airmen during flight or simulations.

“For these men, their legs are their life,” Strive COO Carsten Winsnes said. “We want to arm them with insights into how a pilot’s body handles stress under G-force, ideally creating fewer negative symptoms and outcomes.”
